Powderham Castle is a wonderful and evocative setting for
photographic and filming projects of all kinds.
From
the Castle’s intriguing history, majestic interiors and fine
collection of treasures to its beautiful parkland that has been
virtually untouched since at least 1728 to the walled Victorian
garden, the Woodland Garden, the Belvedere tower, Victorian
kitchens and servant’s area and the many Estate properties
scattered throughout the 3500 acres.
The Castle has glorious views to the Estuary, herd of fallow deer
in the park and has building still in existence from its 1392
start date to Victorian era.The Estate and Castle has featured in a number of films including
'the Oscar winner:'
Remains of of the Day and television programmes such as Midsummer
Murders, and The Black Farmer. More recently Powderham
Castle was featured in 'Great Country Houses' - Winner of RTS
award 2006 for 'Best Programme about the Region'.
