Inspirational Interiors

The inspirational interiors at Powderham are unrivalled in quality, variety and history – you will be spoiled for choice.

Most opulent is the Music Room, James Wyatt’s regency masterpiece created as a space for celebration, and a feast for the senses.  An awe inspiring dome tops the room, creating near perfect acoustics.  The tranquil colours and beautiful colonnaded interior provide an unrivalled sense of serenity.  Here, you can be married in front of the floor to ceiling windows with stunning views of the Deer Park, or it is the perfect room for a sit-down dinner, accommodating 120 guests with ease.

Equally grand is the State Dining Room, a Gothic revival masterpiece with dark, rich linen-fold panelling and intricate heraldic decoration.  The room sets a majestic scene for a ceremony, a grand site for your wedding breakfast and can easily be cleared for music and dancing late in the evening. The high oak ceiling and roaring fire make it the warmest and most welcoming of rooms, whatever the season.

Additional rooms include the two Georgian libraries, with stunning swagger portraits, multiple secret bookcase doors, and views over the Rose Garden.  Also don’t forget the Staircase Hall, celebrated as one of England’s greatest surviving rococo interiors, and the perfect sweeping runway for the bride in her wedding dress.
