Deer Park Safari

This is a wonderful opportunity to take a tractor trailer ride into the deer park to admire the Castle's surrounding natural rugged beauty from the banks of the Exe estuary. The deer park is home to around 600 fallow deer as well as other wildlife. You will learn about their habitat and the history of the Castle through a running commentary and see an exceptional view of the Castle from what was originally the front entrance.

The trip takes about 35 minutes, running at a leisurely pace to allow visitors to take some unique photos and relax in what has to be one of the most stunning settings in Devon. A real treat!

Deer Park Safaris, run on the days we are open at about 1.45pm and 3.15pm - weather and ground conditions permitting.  Small extra charge applies. Tickets can be purchased from the Welcome Hut.
