Charities
Powderham hosts many events that support a number of different charities. We have also chosen two local charities for our Castle visitors to support if they wish to.
Veterans With Dogs was founded for the purpose of training fully accredited assistance dogs to help mitigate the symptoms of mental health difficulties for our Veterans and active-duty service members.
We produce highly effective assistance dog partnerships for mental health through our comprehensive training programme PALS.
Veterans who qualify through our programme have partnerships that they can depend on to help them recognise earlier the increasing symptoms of their difficulties. The dogs are trained to intervene with interruptive behaviours to help their Veteran with emotional regulation, grounding, and to remain safe.
View Website‘The Cave’ is a community music project in Teignmouth. The Cave is for creative musicians of all ages to use, offering high quality, affordable rehearsal space. The space also offers lessons, workshops and opportunities to learn more about musical equipment and advice on promotion and marketing. The name ‘The Cave’ is an apt name for the project as it was the second single release from Teignmouth band Muse and the name will be a reminder of what can be achieved and something for new bands to aspire to!
