Join us for an evening of live performance, spoken word and music in Powderham Castle's old riding school.
From Devon With Love is a scratch performance festival that supports some of the region’s best talent to test new work in front of a live audience.
A bar will be available throughout the evening and audience members are invited to share feedback with the artists after each performance.
7.00pm: The Washing Machine Of Destiny
Luca Saunders and Philip Robinson
Luca Saunders and Philip Robinson are both on the autistic spectrum. Luca has just turned 18, Philip is 65. The Washing Machine of Destiny is an eclectic and engaging mix of improvisation, clowning, live music, storytelling and cabaret, directly involving the audience through voluntary participation. A playful, funny, moving and thought-provoking show.
7.45pm: Universalis
Shaday Barrowes-Bayewunmi
Ever sat opposite your partner and wondered am I pretending to be something else for this person? Shaday is still trying to figure out who she is. But aren’t we all? Hence the reason for this show. Join Shaday in this live art, sex frenzy, and poetry mash-up. Following Shaday’s late diagnosis with Alopecia Universalis Shaday has spent her life picking apart her identity whether that be for the men she dates, her white peers, her family or her friends. Am I sexy enough? Who am I? We all use masks but where is the line? When does it become destructive?
