Job Title:                              Room Steward

Reporting To:                     Collections Manager

Powderham Castle was built for two purposes – as a family home, and as a community landmark at the heart of Devon. It has remained true to purpose for over 600-years and continues to keep our values of truth, community, inclusivity, sustainability and adventure at the heart of operations.

What you’ll be doing as a Room Steward

• Taking an active role in the welcoming, enjoyment and safety of all visitors
• Helping visitors learn about the castle, engaging and answering queries
• Assisting our team of Tour Guides in protecting the interior of the castle from damage during Open House
• Being responsible for the safe evacuation of visitors in an emergency

• A willingness to learn and develop new skills
